Tis the season for falling trees.

We had a tree with a severe lean that was near our house and the property owner decided to intentionally take it down before a storm did.

The direction of the lean? Towards our tiny house…

Luckily it wasn’t at all tall enough or close enough to actually take out any structure that was nearby. Though it got close.

The top of the tree was still 40 to 50 feet away from the tiny house and if it fell towards the wood shed it would have only made it to that silver tarp in the picture (which is hiding hunks of wood) which is about 30 to 40 feet away from the wood shed.

There was a decent amount of time spent figuring out how to get the tree to fall the other direction.  However with the degree of the lean and how the initial cut was done, there was no way of getting it to fall any other direction.

Well now we have a ton of wood sitting around.

What to do with all of that? Get crafty!…and also keep some to run the different wood stoves on the property…

We are in the process of opening an Etsy store that will have listings of different hippy crafts that we do out here with wood and objects we give a second life to.  Along side each of our craft listings will be video tutorials of how we made our crafts.  So if you feel the urge to be crafty and have the tools and supplies, we’ll show you how to get it done!
For now, we are listing other hippy craft items that were made by other hippies. Check out our latest listings here!
