Do you enjoy the work you are doing? Looks like only half of the U.S. can say they do.
Which is better than in 2010 but not saying much.

Are you over loaded with work stress, poor morale, feeling uninspired to be productive or seeing high turnover of your fellow employees…and thinking the same?

The rest of the world seems to be fairly meh in their situation as well.

So, we are willing to stay at jobs to pay for places that we want to live in, but barely get to enjoy, because when we are off work we are too drained from our stressful and unfulfilling career to really enjoy what we have.

Wait for retirement then? Is that really the end goal with all of this? Overwork ourselves to death so that we can finally enjoy our lives once our bodies are too worn down, from all of our work, to really do anything?
Also, hope the economy stays healthy or else you can kiss that retirement goodbye.

And you wonder why everyone you know is rethinking what they’re doing with their lives.

Well here’s a way to rethink yours.

Make a List

Two really.

We are stopping the list at 5 things so that you don’t go crazy with fantasies.

However, before we get to the lists, we gotta make sure you’re in the right headspace for this.
No, I’m not saying you should get high, but you shouldn’t be thinking about your current life situation and all of the problems you’re dealing with. You’ll end up hating your list later if you stay in that headspace.

The best way to do this would be to sit outside, preferably in the sun, no cellphone with you (or at least have it off), and then remember playing as a kid with all of your friends.
Now you’re ready to make some lists.

First list, “What would you do if making money didn’t matter?” Just list 5 things that come to mind as an answer to that question.

Second list, “What excites you the most?” Again, list 5 things that come to mind as an answer to that.

Now, see where there’s crossover between the lists. You may even be able to combine more than two things together.
Once you find the crossover, that’s where you should be focusing your time.

Do a ton of research and see how you would be able to make these things a viable career for you. Or this’ll give you a good reason to keep working your money making job so that you can pay for this pursuit. Then eventually quit that job so you can completely embrace this pursuit.

Don’t limit yourself either. If there are multiple options that come up for you, just order those in what you would want to pursue first.
If that first pursuit doesn’t last long or you still don’t feel fulfilled, just go to your next one on the list.
You may even feel the urge to remake these lists. If so, do it!
People change, we learn new things all the time. Priorities can shift, but what they shouldn’t shift away from is you living a truly fulfilling life.

Side note: Excitement doesn’t mean always happy. It can be terrifying to ride a rollercoaster, but right after, you may find that it was actually exciting for you and you want to do it again.
If you’re not feeling your lists, challenge yourself. You may be surprised by what you find.

Whatever path this leads you down, you now won’t have to worry about where you’re going with your life.

If you start living for your excitement and truly love what it is that you’re doing, money will come to you as a reward for loving life and yourself.

Your first step to loving yourself is to get out of an unfulfilling situation in your life. Then you will find many doors open, asking you, “What do you really want to do with your life?”
